Bifrost Farms was created as a place for transformation, much like the Bifrost Bridge in ancient Norse Mythology. Transformation of our lives and that of our animals. We started as a canine boarding kennel, still owned and run by Meg Wittenmyer, a lifelong animal lover. Soon, goats were added to the farm and Meg was in love again. Goats lead to milk which led to cheese and in 2016 a fully licensed farmstead goat dairy and creamery became a reality. Meg, a licensed cheesemaker, produces Fresh Chevre and Salzkase, a creamy Feta style cheese, which are currently being sold to cooperatives and restaurants scattered throughout the Chippewa Valley and Twin City areas. The goats of Bifrost Farms are spoiled and well-loved, and we are proud to claim Animal Welfare Approved certification by A Greener World, which surpasses all other humane inspections in the U.S. Our girls, who we consider our partners, thrive on lush pasture in the Spring and Summer and quality Alfalfa hay the rest of the year. The does who provide milk, rich in butterfat, for our cheese are fed a non-GMO, transitional organic grain to help keep them healthy and in fit condition. Meg uses a vegetable rennet so that all Bifrost Farms products are vegetarian.
Changing the world, one goat at a time.
